UNLOCK KHIMSAR WITH US

HISTORY AND CULTURE

Strategically located at about 90km NorthEast of Jodhpur on the road to Nagaur and Bikaner, Khimsar was established by a scion of the house of Jodhpur.

A convenient stopover between Pushkar and Jaisalmer, Khimsar offers a lot of attractions and activities for its visitors to indulge in, including the famed Nagaur and Gangaur festivals. The Panchala Black Buck Reserve is the other tourist attraction here that is worth a visit after the Khimsar fort. The desert village of Khimsar provides an excellent starting point, also offering an attractive insight into the rural life of the desert people.

    TRAVEL TIPS

    • The currency in Khimsar is the Indian rupee (INR) therefore, make sure that you carry Indian rupee with you, else the airport is home to a 24-hour money change office.

    • Be familiar with the language spoken so that you avoid any sort of hustle-bustle while roaming in the city. People in Khimsar converse in Rajasthani, Marwari, Hindi and English.

    • The best time to visit Khimsar is from November to February, after the monsoon, when the weather is the coolest.

    • Whenever you are leaving for somewhere, make sure you keep some extra time in hand.

    • Always make a note on the best restaurants and city attractions to visit, so that you save time later and no confusion is created of any sort.

    • Drink bottled water (check to confirm that the seal has not been broken). Do not drink tap water or any water served in a restaurant in a glass unless you saw it being poured from a sealed bottle.
